XIX Winter Cup

The first important race of the season brings the first positive results for the drivers of the Maranello Kart team. Zanchetta, Camplese, Bernardotto and Lapina are top players all weekend long, too bad for the stroke of bad luck that seems to hit throughout the final.

The 2014 season is off to a great start for Maranello Kart, one of the top players of the classic season opener held annually at the South Garda track in Lonato. The team directed by Stefano Griggio and Alessandro Levratti stepped on track for the 19th Winter Cup with four drivers in KZ2, all of whom made a great impression by qualified very well for the final phase. After the qualifyings, all 4 of the Maranello officials are among the top 11: Zanchetta is 3rd, Lapina 7th, Bernardotto 9th and Camplese 11th. Throughout the heats things keep going great for Zanchetta, who wins a race and makes the top 3 in the others (twice 2nd and 3rd), and they also look good for Camplese (8th at the penalty count) and Bernardotto (13th best overall). Lapina, instead, has a tougher time, but he makes up for an 18th place finish in both of the first two heats with two 6th places in the following races and qualifies 25th . In the prefinal Zanchetta confirms that he is vying for victory and closes 4th. Camplese and Bernardotto end 12th and 14 th, while Lapina rises to 19 th.
