Maranello Kart’s drivers started off very well in the closer of WSK Super MasterSeries in Sarno, but some penalties affected Lorenzo Camplese’s performance in KZ2 and Alexandru Iancu’s in 60 Mini.

The fourth and closing round of WSK Super Master Series held at the International Circuit Napoli in Sarno has highlighted the very good speed of Lorenzo Camplese in KZ2 and that of Alexandru Iancu in 60 Mini, but bad luck played them a bad joke in the end result.

Lorenzo Camplese has been on track in Sarno on Maranello-Tm mainly to test the KZ2 material ahead of the forthcoming European Championship, but he has been quite surprising in qualifying when he just missed out on taking the pole position by 0.014s. Such a superb performance tells a lot about the speed of Camplese.

A retirement in the heats hit hard on Camplese though and forced him to start the Prefinal from P17. Lorenzo Camplese recovered three places in the Prefinal, but a 10s time penalty stripped him of the eighth place in the Final and pushed him down to the eighteenth place of the standings. This has been a good test nevertheless for the Maranello Kart driver, who is now ready to face the international season as a protagonist.

Following the third place scored last week in Sarno’s third round of WSK, Alexandru Iancu kicked off this weekend in 60 Mini with another good performance in qualifying: the fifth place of Series 3.He continued his progression in the heats scoring good results and also claiming one win, which earned Iancu a front row start on the Prefinal’s starting grid. Iancu unfortunately lost some positions at the start, and slipped down the pack and in the fight for the top, being eventually hit by a 10s time penalty in the heat of the race, which basically pushed him out of the Final. This was a real shame as Iancu could have certainly scored another good result in the closing race of the day. In the 60 Mini Luca Paul Viisoreanu made his debut in the WSK.
