Lonato del Garda (Brescia - Italy). After the successes in the WSK Euro Series, excellent start for SGrace/Maranello Kart also in the CSAI Karting Italian Championship with Massimo Dante. The Italian driver stepped onto the podium thanks to his second place in the opening event of the championship on the International Circuit Napoli in Sarno.

The Italian driver from Sudtirol, assisted by Stefano Griggio, was immediately with the top drivers, thanks to his more and more performing Maranello RS10 chassis powered by TM. He set the overall third time in qualifying, then he won one of the heats and placed third in the other. In Final 1 he started from the front row and attacked from the beginning to the end of the race, placing second behind Di Poto and ahead of Pastacaldi.

In Final 2, due to the inverted grid rule, he started a bit behind and he got stuck in the initial tussle. Then, the SGrace/Maranello Kart driver managed to close the gap and to place fourth, confirming the high level of competitiveness of his kart in this race too, setting outstanding times. Thanks to these two remarkable performances, Massimo Dante is now among the major protagonists of the Italian championship, where he is now second, only four points behind the leader.

In Sarno, also Nicola Gnudi raced on a SGrace/Maranello Kart. He was obliged to recover in the heats because of a rather unlucky qualifying session and placed 18th in Final 1. Then, in Race 2, Gnudi put in a great performance and managed to place 8th.

Special mention also for the young Mattia Drudi, at his debut in KZ2 with Maranello. In the first final he achieved an excellent 11th place, besides the overall 13th time set in qualifying.

Next event of the Italian Championship in Sant’Egidio alla Vibrata (Teramo) on 23rd June.
