Sant’Egidio alla Vibrata (Teramo). Second appointment of the CSAI Karting Italian Championship. The venue of the event was the racetrack of Sant’Egidio alla Vibrata (Teramo): great results for SGrace/Maranello Kart thanks to Massimo Dante who achieved the podium in both the finals. Thanks to this result he is now the new leader of the championship, with Mattia Drudi always at his ease in the gearbox category.

SGrace/Maranello Kart, once again, achieves another excellent results in one of the championships of the 2013 season it is taking part in. It has become one of the most competitive brands at national and international level. Results say it all: in the Italian championship SGrace/Maranello Kart is the leader with Massimo Dante after the second round in Val Vibrata.

The driver from Trentino stepped twice onto the podium and was among the main protagonists of the weekend, with a second place on Race-1 and a third place in Race-2 which rocketed him on top of the standings.

In Val Vibrata, Massimo Dante's competitiveness was evident since qualifying: he set the third time, just a tenth of a second behind the leader. Then, in the heats, he placed second and fourth. In the first Final Dante managed to reach quickly the second position and to finish, without much trouble, second behind Spinelli. In Final-2, Dante confirmed his top competitiveness: he closed well the initial gap - due to the inverted grid start for the first eight positions. In this second Final, Dante could have finished second again but, because of a small indecision right during the last lap, he had to be content with the third place behind Simonetti and Pastacaldi. Anyway, thanks to this third place,  Dante got on top of the standings with 92 points, ahead of  Pastacaldi with 76 and Celenta with 55.
On the other hand, the other SGrace/Maranello Kart driver, Nicola Gnudi, was not as lucky. He put in a good performance in qualifying and in the heats, but in the first Final he got involved  in a crash at the start: all the good job done in the first phase went up in smoke. In the second Final, anyway, Gnudi managed to recover from the last rows of the grid and finished 14th.
Also the young Mattia Drudi put in an impressive performance; he is at his first experiences in the gearbox category on a RS10 chassis and took part in the race as a private driver. After his debut in the last race of Sarno, here in Val Vibrata Drudi was always among the top drivers and was very fast in both the Finals, arriving 4th in Race 1 and 6th in Race 2.

KZ2 standings after two rounds: 1. Dante 92 points; 2. Pastacaldi 76; 3. Celenta 55; 4. Spinelli 54; 5. Di Poto 53; 6. Simonetti 42; 7. Piccioni 39; 8. Pezzolla 38; 9. Rendina 36; 10. Drudi 35; 11. Giulietti e Massatani 21; 13. Ercoli 12; 14. Piccini 9; 15. Barberini e Marcon 8; 17. Gnudi 7.
