MARCO ZANCHETTA ON MARANELLO KART DOMINATES IN KZ2 THE SECOND ROUND OF THE WSK EURO SERIES IN ZUERA

24/03/2013

EXCELLENT DOUBLE WIN OF THE MARANELLO KART DRIVER IN THE TWO FINALS IN SPAIN. ZANCHETTA IS AT THE TOP OF THE STANDINGS WITH A GOOD LEAD OVER HIS RIVALS.

Zuera (Spain). Terrific performance for Maranello Kart and Marco Zanchetta in Spain too, in the second round of the WSK Euro Series. The driver of the Italian factory won twice in the two finals of the KZ2 category.

Thanks to the more and more competitive RS10 chassis, Marco Zanchetta was simply unbeatable in both the finals of the Spanish weekend, after achieving a flawless pole position in Saturday's qualifying.

The performance of Zanchetta and of Maranello Kart, given on such a fast track as the Spanish one, was even more remarkable than the one achieved in La Conca, confirming once again the top quality of the equipment the Italian driver has at his disposal. Thanks to his double success, Zanchetta is now at the top of the standings, with a good lead over his pursuers: he has 145 points, Negro 104, Midrla 80, while the other drivers are remarkably behind.

Immediately after his arrival in Final 2, Zanchetta said: "we outpaced the others. We were fast from the beginning, from Saturday's morning qualifying. Everything was perfect. Chassis and engine were at the top and I felt absolutely fine. I think Maranello Kart and all the team are doing a great job. We have taken many steps forward since the Winter Cup. Now I lead the standings: it is still a bit too early to think about the championship, but we will try to keep the leadership as long as possible, always doing our best. Negro hit me from behind? Nothing serious, really. These things happen: when you drive to the limit you are likely to make mistakes. For this success I must say thank you to Maranello Kart, to the SG Race Team, to Griggio and Rizzi, besides my mechanic."

Alessandro Levratti, sports manager: “We dominated throughout the whole weekend, achieving pole-position, fast laps in the heats and victories in the two finals - with fast laps too. We had some troubles in the heats, because of some contacts, as well as in Final 1 when Zanchetta had to recover from fifth place to first. Anyway, everything worked, at technical level too: chassis and engine were at their top."

KZ2 Standings after the second round of the WSK Euro Series: 1. Zanchetta 145 points; 2. Negro 104; 3. Midrla 80; 4. Johansson 37; 5. Juodvirsis 31; 6. Dragan 28; 7. Roy 24; 8. Antonsen e Celenta 22; 10. Spinelli 17. Next WSK Euro Series appointments: 21st April in Sarno (Italy) and 2nd June in Genk (Belgium).
